About the role
CGI is seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to play a key role in mentoring junior team members, evaluating emerging technologies, and contributing to continuous improvement across the engineering function. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex software or infrastructure solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid level engineers.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments.
- Participate in architectural discussions and propose scalable, efficient system designs.
- Drive automation and optimization initiatives to improve system performance and reliability.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact.
- Develop and maintain documentation, white papers, and training materials to support knowledge transfer for customers and junior team members.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through reliable support and service delivery.
- Meet or exceed agreed service level targets defined in the Service Level Agreement (SLA) or project timelines.
About you
- Must have 5+ years of related experience.
- Strong expertise in Windows Servers, Networking, and Linux.
- Must have experience in Active Directory.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage, but not a requirement.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Proven capacity to perform efficiently in high-pressure environments.
- Strong collaboration skills, exhibiting a commitment to teamwork.
- Dedication to maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of work.
- Flexibility with a proven ability to adapt quickly to changes and think conceptually.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues.
