Boilermaker/ Welders, Welshpool

Bossong Engineering is a modern and technology-driven engineering company servicing the mining, oil & gas, construction, and heavy industry sectors across Australia.

We are seeking experienced Boilermaker / Welders to join our workshop team in a full-time role, with regular overtime available.

You will join a well-equipped workshop with a supportive team, varied fabrication projects and modern welding technology, including Lincoln S500 & S700 systems with HyperFill capability.

The Role

You will be involved in the fabrication and welding of:

• Mining and oil & gas components

• Structural steel assemblies

• Chutes, tanks, spools, skids and heavy steel structures

• Carbon steel, stainless steel and quenched & tempered materials

Work includes:

• FCAW and GMAW welding (GTAW experience desirable)

• Reading and interpreting workshop drawings and weld symbols

• Fabrication, fit-up and assembly work

• Grinding, cutting, shaping and finishing components

• Grinding, cutting, shaping and finishing components

Experience working to standards including AS 1554 SP, AS 3992, ASME IX and AWS D1.1 will be highly regarded.

You will be required to provide evidence of your Australian working rights.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Cert III Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaker)

• Proven FCAW / GMAW welding skills

• Ability to pass a 1G single bevel butt weld test

• Sound fabrication, fit-up and practical workshop skills

• A strong focus on safety and quality

• Reliability, a positive attitude and pride in your work

• The ability to work well within a team environment

Previous mining or oil & gas fabrication experience is advantageous but not essential.
