Skilled Labourer/Machine Operator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Skilled Labourer/Machine Operator to join our team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with solid construction site experience and the ability to operate a range of machinery and equipment. Experience operating a telehandler is a must, along with experience using other construction machinery. You will work closely with the Site Manager and project team, assisting with daily site operations, material handling and general labouring duties to keep projects running safely and efficiently. This role suits someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in their contribution, and is keen to be part of a well-run construction team.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a range of construction machinery and equipment safely and efficiently

• Move, load and unload construction materials and equipment around site

• Assist with deliveries, material handling and site logistics

• Carry out general skilled labouring duties as required

• Support trades and subcontractors with day-to-day site activities

• Maintain clean, tidy and organised work areas

• Complete routine equipment checks and report any faults or maintenance requirements

• Follow site safety procedures, SWMS and directions from the Site Manager

• Identify and report hazards and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment

About you

• Previous experience in a skilled labouring role within residential and/or commercial construction

• Demonstrated experience operating construction machinery, such as telehandlers, forklifts, excavators, skid steers, loaders or other relevant equipment

• Relevant licences, tickets and competencies for the machinery operated

• White Card (General Construction Induction Card)

• A strong understanding of construction site safety and safe material handling

• Physically fit and willing to undertake hands-on labouring duties

• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team

• A proactive attitude, good communication skills and a strong work ethic
