Steel Yard / Factory Worker – BRC

Brisbane Reinforcement Company (BRC) is looking for 2 reliable, hardworking and motivated Steel Yard / Factory Worker to join our growing team for afternoon shift!

Training & Shift Hours

The successful applicant will complete their initial training on the day shift for approximately 2–3 weeks. Once training is completed, they will transition to the afternoon shift, working 2:00pm – 10:00pm.

We are looking for someone who isn't afraid of physical work, can work in a fast-paced environment and is willing to get stuck in and get the job done.

Training will be provided to the successful applicant, so while previous experience is highly regarded, it is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading trucks

• Picking and preparing customer orders for delivery

• Handling, moving and organising reinforcing steel products

• Assisting with general factory and yard duties

• Ensuring orders are picked accurately and efficiently

• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment

• Working as part of a team to meet daily deadlines

Requirements

• Current Australian driver's licence – ESSENTIAL (manual license desirable)

• Physically fit and capable of performing repetitive manual handling and heavy lifting

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking

• Strong work ethic and positive attitude

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

• Good attention to detail when picking orders

• Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team

• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks

Highly Desirable

• Current forklift licence

• Previous experience working in a steel yard, reinforcement factory or similar environment

• Experience loading and unloading trucks

• Knowledge of reinforcing steel products

PLEASE NOTE: This is a hands-on role in a busy steel yard, NOT a traditional factory environment. The position involves physically demanding work, including working outdoors, handling steel products, picking orders and loading trucks. Applicants must be comfortable working in an active steel yard environment.
