About the role
This is a full-time role that is responsible for the safe and timely collection and delivery of laundry from our Commercial Laundry to our customers within the Darwin / Palmerston area. When not on a truck run, the role is utilised on the laundry floor, delivering high-quality laundry services. Your day will be varied, assisting the team in the Laundry, and delivering fresh linen to our regular clientele.
Key responsibilities
- Safe collection and delivery of laundry to customers
- Knowledge of safe loading, unloading and load restraint practices
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and promptly report any defects, damage, incidents, or safety concerns to the Facilities Manager
- Load, operate and unload washers and dryers
- Wear correct PPE when required
- Perform physically demanding work in a Tropical Environment, including repetitive lifting and pushing of laundry tubs
- Safe handling and use of Laundry Chemicals
About you
- Hold a relevant LR and Forklift licence, with a safe driving record and confidence in operating delivery vehicles with a tailgate loader
- Be safety-focused and understand the importance of the chain of responsibility
- Have a customer-centric mindset and effective communication skills
- Strong work ethic and reliable, with the ability to follow verbal and written instruction
- Work as part of a team to achieve organisational goals
- Be prepared to provide a driving history report, undergo a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening and national police checks
- Previous delivery experience would be advantageous, but a great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important
