This organization develops innovative digital healthcare solutions that support healthcare providers, patients, and operational teams across the UK healthcare sector.

As part of their continued growth and technology investment, they are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join their engineering team and contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of mission-critical healthcare applications.

Job Summary

The Senior Java Developer will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise applications. Working closely with product managers, solution architects, QA engineers, and stakeholders, you will play a key role in delivering innovative healthcare technology solutions that improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Engineering

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust Java applications and microservices.

• Build scalable backend solutions using modern Java frameworks and best practices.

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and system integrations.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues and performance bottlenecks.

• Conduct code reviews and contribute to technical design discussions.

• Collaborate with architects and technical leads to define software solutions.

• Ensure software meets security, compliance, and quality standards.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with UK-based stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior developers.

• Collaborate with QA teams to ensure high-quality software releases.

• Support deployment, release, and production activities.

Continuous Improvement

• Promote engineering best practices and coding standards.

• Contribute to system modernization and technical innovation initiatives.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

• Maintain technical documentation and knowledge-sharing practices.

Skills & Experience

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 5+ years of experience in Java development.

• Strong hands-on experience with:

  • Java 11+ / Java 17+

  • Spring Boot

  • Spring Framework

  • REST APIs

  • Microservices Architecture

  • JPA / Hibernate

  • SQL Databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server)

  • Git

  • JUnit and Mockito

• Strong understanding of software design principles and best practices.

• Experience working in Agile development environments.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Docker and Kubernetes experience.

• CI/CD pipeline implementation.

• Kafka or event-driven architecture.

• Experience building healthcare, SaaS, or enterprise applications.

• Previous experience working with international stakeholders.
