About the role

Marcia Street Fabricators is seeking skilled Boilermakers to join our team on a casual basis. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced metal fabrication professionals to contribute to high-quality projects in a dynamic workshop environment. Based in Coffs Harbour, NSW, this role offers flexibility and the chance to work with a reputable fabrication company that values craftsmanship and precision. You will be working on varied projects that utilise your expertise boilermaking, with the potential for ongoing casual engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricating and assembling sheet metal components and structures to specification and design drawings

• Operating and maintaining sheet metal machinery and equipment, including guillotines, brakes, rolls and welding apparatus

• Measuring, cutting, bending and shaping sheet metal materials with precision and accuracy

• Performing welding operations to join metal components securely and safely

• Inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards and compliance with technical specifications

• Preparing materials and workspace for fabrication tasks

• Following safety protocols and workplace procedures at all times

• Collaborating with other tradespeople and supervisory staff to complete projects on schedule

• Maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used

What we're looking for

• Recognised trade qualification in Sheet Metal Work, Boilermaking or equivalent welding and fabrication credentials

• Proven experience working as a Sheet Metal Tradesman, Sheet Metal Worker or Boilermaker in a professional workshop environment

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications

• Competency in operating sheet metal machinery and hand tools safely and effectively

• Strong welding skills with the ability to produce quality welds across various metal types

• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and procedures

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Current First Aid certification and relevant safety qualifications (e.g. working at heights, confined spaces) are desirable

• Flexibility to work on casual engagements as required
