Field Service Technician – GPS Machine Control

RaptorTech is an Australian technology company specialising in 3D GPS Machine Control systems for earthmoving equipment.

Our technology enables construction machines to operate with millimetre accuracy, helping contractors work faster, safer and more efficiently on civil and infrastructure projects.

Due to continued growth across NSW, we are looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team installing and supporting advanced machine control technology.

This role suits Auto Electricians, Diesel Mechanics or technically minded technicians who enjoy solving problems and working in the field rather than being stuck in a workshop.

The Role

This is a hands-on field role installing and supporting high-tech GPS machine control systems on excavators and construction equipment across NSW.

You will work directly with civil contractors and machine operators, helping them deploy and use technology that significantly improves how machines perform on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of machine control systems on excavators and heavy equipment
• System setup, calibration and commissioning on construction sites
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues
• Maintenance and repair of installed systems
• Customer training and support
• Pre and post installation reporting
• Working closely with customers to ensure successful system operation

About You

We are looking for someone practical, reliable and technically minded who enjoys working independently and solving problems.

Ideal backgrounds include:

• Auto Electrician
• Heavy Diesel Mechanic
• Light Vehicle Mechanic with strong electrical skills
• Agricultural or construction equipment technician
• Field technician with electronics or GPS experience

You will also have:

• Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously
• Basic computer skills for reporting and configuration
• A professional and proactive attitude

Experience with machine control or GPS technology is highly regarded but not essential.
