About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, organised and hands-on Casual Chef to support our Head Chef in our Upper Mount Gravatt production kitchen.

This is a varied role involving food preparation, platter assembly, packaging, dispatch and occasional delivery and on-site catering support.

You'll be working in a fast-paced production environment where attention to detail, presentation and meeting daily deadlines are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble sandwich platters, fruit platters, cakes, slices and hot savoury items.

• Assist with daily food production, portioning, packaging and presentation.

• Follow daily production schedules, catering orders and run sheets.

• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen organisation.

• Assist with packing, checking and dispatching catering orders to multiple venues.

• Deliver catering orders to funeral homes and cemetery locations as required.

• Support front of house teams with heating, preparation and presentation of function food.

• Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure catering orders are completed accurately and on time.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience as a chef or cook, ideally in catering, production kitchens or high-volume food preparation.

• Is confident preparing fresh platters, sandwiches and hot savoury food.

• Has excellent time management and organisational skills.

• Works efficiently and independently while supporting a small team.

• Takes pride in food quality, presentation and consistency.

• Is flexible, reliable and willing to assist with deliveries and on-site catering.

• Holds a current driver's licence.

• Understands food safety and safe food-handling practices.
