Cold Store & Warehouse Supervisor

The Company

O'Connor is Victoria's leading processor and exporter of premium beef products, based in Pakenham.  With a strong domestic and international presence and a reputation for quality, O'Connor employs approximately 500 staff.

O’Connor are seeking an experienced Cold Store & Warehouse Supervisor to join our team in a permanent full-time position.

The Position

Reporting to the Operations Manager and Production Manager, you will supervise cold store operations, ensuring the efficient, accurate and compliant handling, storage and dispatch of product in accordance with company, customer and export requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising daily cold store operations, including product receival, storage, order preparation and dispatch.

• Coordinating with the Shipping & Logistics team for product and transport movements.

• Ensuring correct product labelling, identification and segregation in accordance with export market eligibility, customer specifications and regulatory requirements.

• Maintaining product integrity, temperature control and traceability throughout storage and dispatch.

• Managing inventory, stock movements and storage capacity to optimise space utilisation and operational efficiency.

• Ensuring accurate stock records, dispatch documentation and operational reporting.

• Monitoring operational performance, setting daily priorities and resolving issues as they arise.

• Leading, training and supporting staff to maintain productivity, accuracy and safe work practices.

• Ensuring compliance with O'Connor's health and safety policies and procedures.

• Ensuring staff hours and additional hours worked are accurately recorded.

The Person

You will be a hands-on leader with strong attention to detail, initiative and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced meat processing and export environment.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Supervisory experience in cold storage, warehousing, dispatch or logistics, preferably within the meat processing industry.

• An understanding of export requirements, particularly product labelling, market eligibility, segregation, temperature control and documentation.

• Strong planning and spatial awareness, with the ability to optimise storage capacity and coordinate product placement, retrieval and stock rotation while maintaining accessibility and traceability.

• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies and prevent errors.

• Initiative, sound problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing operational requirements.

• Strong numerical, organisational and computer skills, including inventory management and accurate record-keeping.

• Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

• A commitment to workplace health and safety, product integrity and regulatory compliance.

• Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to work early starts to meet production and dispatch schedules.

• Forklift licence

Experience with export beef products, export documentation and refrigerated transport will be highly regarded.
