Keep Victoria’s best gear moving

You’re not just a mechanic, you’re the kind of person who takes pride in doing things right, every time. You know your way around mobile plant gear, love solving problems on the fly, and take satisfaction in keeping machines running smoothly.

At Clennett Hire, we don’t just rent equipment, we deliver reliability. Our fleet is new, our technology is cutting-edge, and our people are the reason our clients come back.

Now we’re looking for a In-house Service Mechanic to join our Laverton North branch and help keep our equipment performing at its best.

What You’ll Do

As one of our Service Mechanics, you’ll be one of the go-to team members for keeping our fleet running in peak condition.

  • Service & diagnostics – Conduct in-house servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on our equipment

  • Solve problems fast – Respond to breakdowns, troubleshoot efficiently, and get customers back on track.

  • Hands-on servicing – Carry out scheduled maintenance and repairs across our modern plant and equipment fleet.

  • Keep us hire-ready – Ensure machines are clean, fuelled, and in top condition before they go out.

  • Safety first – Follow procedures and maintain high standards of organisation, safety, and workmanship.

What You Bring

  • Trade-qualified Diesel, Plant Mechanic, Hydraulics (or similar)

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in plant or mobile equipment servicing

  • Strong mechanical knowledge across diesel, electrical and hydraulic systems

  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills — calm under pressure

  • Experience with hire management systems (Syrinx preferred)

  • Licences: Driver’s, White Card, Forklift, Working at Heights, and ideally HRW / EWP

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • New fleet, new facilities, great gear – You’ll work with the best equipment in a purpose-built, modern workshop.

  • Real development – Continuous OEM, HRW, and internal training with career growth opportunities as we expand.

  • Strong team culture – Join a group that genuinely supports each other, celebrates wins, and takes pride in delivering quality.

  • You'll be recognised – You’re not a number here. Your expertise and initiative will make a visible impact.
