Non-Destructive Testing Technician and Trainee
Build your career in asset integrity | Mudgee, Central West NSW
Two opportunities. One growing team. A future in NDT.
Noble Engineering Services (NES) is growing its Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) capability across Central West NSW. We are seeking an experienced NDT Technician and an enthusiastic NDT Trainee to join our Mudgee-based team, supporting clients across mining, heavy industry, mechanical maintenance and fabrication.
NES is an established asset integrity and reliability engineering business delivering specialist services across NDT, Condition Monitoring, Metallurgy and Engineering. Join a close-knit team where technical excellence, safety, integrity and professional development matter.
Opportunity 1 – NDT Technician
Indicative salary: $90,000-$120,000 + superannuation
For an experienced, qualified NDT professional ready to make an impact.
Bring your practical inspection skills and mechanical understanding to a varied, site-based role. You will undertake NDT inspections, interpret findings, prepare accurate technical reports and work directly with clients to deliver reliable, high-quality results.
We are seeking an AINDT-certified technician with relevant ISO 9712 qualifications, preferably in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT). A hands-on mechanical background and mining or heavy industrial experience are highly desirable.
You will bring sound technical judgement, a strong safety mindset, professional communication skills and the ability to plan and complete work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team.
Opportunity 2 – NDT Trainee
Indicative salary: $66,000-$90,000 + superannuation
For a motivated person ready to develop a specialist technical career.
No previous NDT certification is required. We are looking for someone with the right aptitude, practical mindset and commitment to learn. A mechanical, engineering, fabrication, maintenance or trade-related background would be advantageous.
Working alongside experienced technicians, you will receive practical instruction and support to pursue relevant AINDT qualifications, initially in Magnetic Particle Testing, while developing your inspection, reporting, equipment-handling and client-service skills.
Our goal is to help you progress towards becoming a competent NDT Technician who can undertake appropriate work independently as your qualifications and experience develop.
What we are looking for
For both opportunities, you will need a reliable, proactive approach, attention to detail, sound communication skills and a commitment to safe work practices. You must be comfortable with site-based work and travel as required.
Interested in joining NES? Apply for the opportunity that best matches your current skills and experience. Tell us what you can bring to the team and, if applying for the trainee role, why you want to build a career in NDT.
What NES offers
A Mudgee-based role supporting a growing Central West client base.
Company vehicles made available for required work-related travel.
Varied exposure to mining, industrial plant, workshops and mechanical assets.
Professional training and development opportunities.
A supportive team that values safety, respect, integrity and excellence.
A genuine opportunity to build a long-term career in asset integrity.
Both positions require some travel to client sites with the occasional overnight stay, so flexibility, reliability and a current driver's licence are important.
The NES difference
We don’t believe career progression should mean simply waiting for a vacancy or accumulating years of service.
Our NES Capability Framework (NESCF) provides a transparent pathway from inductee through to experienced, senior, and specialist levels, with career progression based on capability, performance, and enterprise contribution.
Ready to take the next step?
If you are an experienced technician looking for your next challenge, or someone ready to build a technical career, we would welcome your application.
Apply now and tell us about your experience, qualifications or the practical skills and aptitude you would bring to NES.
