Multi-Skilled Tradesperson

PKKP Construction | Permanent Full-Time | Karratha-Based or FIFO | On-Site Accommodation

More than construction. Build something that matters.

PKKP Construction is seeking an experienced, multi-skilled tradesperson to join our dedicated construction team, delivering meaningful projects across Karratha and the wider Pilbara.

From community housing and property improvements to commercial construction and heritage restoration, we're building spaces that serve communities and preserve places of cultural significance.

One of our most exciting projects is Nanutarra Station, a heritage-listed property of deep cultural importance to the Kurrama and Pinikura people.

This major commercial construction and development project includes significant heritage restoration works, requiring a versatile, hands-on approach that goes beyond a typical building project. With ambitious plans to create a destination for cultural activities, community gatherings and events, you'll have the opportunity to help bring something truly special to life.

Alongside Nanutarra, you'll contribute to PKKP Construction's broader portfolio of building, renovation, maintenance and development projects across the Pilbara.

About the role

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you'll play a hands-on role across a diverse range of construction, renovation and restoration activities.

We're looking for someone with a strong trade background and practical experience across multiple areas of building and construction. You might be a Carpenter, Tiler, Plasterer or another qualified tradesperson who has developed a broad range of skills throughout your career.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking a variety of building, renovation, restoration, maintenance and repair works across different construction disciplines.

  • Applying your skills across activities such as carpentry, tiling, plastering, cladding, roofing, flooring, fit-outs and finishing works, within your competency.

  • Contributing to commercial construction and culturally significant heritage restoration at Nanutarra Station.

  • Delivering building and property improvements across community housing, facilities and other PKKP Construction projects.

  • Reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and schedules, accurately measuring and setting out works.

  • Working collaboratively with tradespeople, contractors and trainees to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes.

  • Sharing your knowledge and supporting the development of apprentices, trainees and less experienced workers.

  • Maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship and respect for Country and cultural heritage.

Why join PKKP Construction?

  • Meaningful projects: Contribute to culturally significant heritage restoration, community housing and broader construction works.

  • Unique experience: Help restore and develop Nanutarra Station, a project unlike most others.

  • Variety of work: Put your broader trade skills to use across construction, restoration, renovations and property improvements.

  • Collaborative environment: Be part of a hands-on team where your experience and contribution make a genuine difference.

  • Flexible arrangements: Permanent full-time employment, Karratha-based or FIFO, with a negotiable roster.

  • On-site accommodation: Accommodation available at Nanutarra Station.

About you

We're looking for a capable, versatile tradesperson who takes pride in their workmanship, enjoys practical challenges and has the experience to turn their hand to a variety of building tasks.

You'll bring:

  • A minimum Certificate III qualification in a recognised building or construction trade, such as Carpentry, Wall and Floor Tiling, Plastering or another relevant trade.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience across multiple areas of building, construction, renovations or maintenance.

  • Strong practical skills in your primary trade, with the versatility to undertake other building activities within your competency.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and schedules.

  • Sound understanding of building methods, materials, Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC) and construction quality requirements relevant to your work.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.

  • A commitment to workplace safety, teamwork and respectful engagement with Aboriginal communities.

  • A Construction White Card, current C Class Driver's Licence and willingness to work across the Pilbara.

Experience in heritage restoration, commercial construction, property renovations or remote building projects will be highly regarded. Additional trade qualifications, practical building skills and relevant plant or equipment tickets will also be advantageous.
