Professional PV & Electrical is seeking an experienced Electrician/Meter Technician to join our team in Canberra, ACT. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to work in the electrical trades sector, combining traditional electrical installation and maintenance with metering technology expertise. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality electrical services to our valued clients across the region, contributing directly to the success and reputation of our growing business.

Key responsibilities

• Installing, testing and maintaining electrical systems and components in residential, commercial and industrial properties

• Reading, interpreting and troubleshooting electricity meters and related metering equipment

• Performing routine inspections and diagnostic testing to identify electrical faults and safety hazards

• Conducting preventative maintenance on electrical installations to ensure optimal performance and compliance

• Liaising with clients to explain technical issues and recommend solutions in a clear and professional manner

• Documenting work completed, including detailed records of installations, repairs and test results

• Adhering to all relevant electrical codes, safety regulations and industry standards

• Contributing to workplace safety initiatives and maintaining a clean and organised work environment

• Supporting team members and sharing knowledge to foster a collaborative working culture

What we're looking for

• Valid electrical license or qualifications recognised in the ACT (such as a restricted or full electrical license)

• Proven experience as a qualified electrician with a solid track record in installation, maintenance and repair work ( advantage but all training provided)

• Ability to work on your own and manage time efficiently.

• Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards, Australian wiring rules and relevant legislation

• Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work methodically and accurately

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues

• A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry developments

• A valid driver's license and reliability in meeting client appointments

• Current First Aid certification (desirable)
