Local Courier Driver – Sunshine Coast

Monday–Friday | $34.39/hr | Local work | Home every night

East Coast Freight Distribution is looking for another good person to join our courier team at Kunda Park.

You might already be an experienced courier driver. Or you might simply be a good driver and reliable worker who would like to learn freight.

Previous courier experience is welcome, but it isn't essential.

What matters more to us is that you turn up, work hard, drive safely, take responsibility and care about doing a good job.

What We Offer

• $34.39 per hour

• Monday to Friday

• 6:30am start

• Typically 40–50 hours per week, depending on freight volumes

• Most days you'll finish around 3:00–4:00pm, although busier days can run through to around 5:00pm

• Local Sunshine Coast deliveries – home every night

• Modern, well-maintained vehicles and equipment

• Work independently with the support of our operations team

• Consistent work with a long-established Sunshine Coast freight company

• Opportunity to progress into larger vehicles and higher licence classes

You'll initially start as a casual employee.

Good drivers are generally offered permanent employment after approximately four weeks. When you move to permanent, we maintain the same $34.39 ordinary hourly rate – 25% above the Level 2 Award ordinary rate – plus permanent employee entitlements.

What the Job Actually Involves

This is an active, hands-on courier role delivering freight to businesses and homes around the Sunshine Coast.

You'll start your day at our Kunda Park depot helping sort and load freight before heading out to complete your delivery run.

This isn't just small parcels and satchels.

Our freight includes cartons and flat-packed furniture of varying sizes and weights. You'll regularly be sorting, loading, unloading and moving freight throughout the day.

We provide trolleys, tailgate loaders and the equipment needed to handle freight safely, but you still need to be fit, strong and comfortable doing physical work.

Your day will include:

• Sorting and loading freight

• Planning and completing your delivery run

• Safely operating one of our delivery vehicles

• Delivering freight professionally to our customers

• Using our delivery and scanning systems

• Communicating with our operations team when something doesn't go to plan

• Taking care of your vehicle, equipment and the freight you're carrying

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

• Turns up reliably and on time

• Has a current Australian driver's licence and good driving record

• Drives safely and uses good judgement

• Is fit and physically capable of doing the job

• Works hard without needing to be constantly supervised

• Takes responsibility and can solve everyday problems

• Is friendly and professional with customers

• Treats co-workers well and helps the team when needed

• Takes care of vehicles, equipment and freight

• Communicates clearly

• Is comfortable working independently

Previous multi-drop, courier or freight experience is useful, but it's not essential for the right person.

A forklift licence is also useful but not essential.
