About the role

We are seeking a full time Fabricator to join our fabrication team in Campbellfield. The purpose of the position is to provide production support to the Workshop team by fabricating & welding assemblies from detailed shop drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out welding, fabrication, and processing of steel products in the factory as directed by the Workshop Foreman & Production Manager in a safe and productive manner

• Read & interpret detailed shop drawings and mark out steel

• Undertake weld procedures and apply these to fabricated products

• Welding of fabricated parts using GMAW & MMAW processes to in-house welding procedures in line with AS1554 (CC3 accredited Fabricator)

• Check and test work performed by themselves

• Maintain tools and equipment in an efficient and safe operating condition

• Material handling using overhead crane and forklift

• Follow company HSE policies and procedures

About you

• Ability to work safely in a heavy steel fabrication environment

• Competence in use of factory equipment

• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications

• Be able to receive instructions and communicate in the English language

• Ability to follow Quality procedures as they apply to AS/NZS 5131 and AS 3834
