Accounting Supervisor

About the role

Trade Mate Distribution Inc. is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our Finance team in Valenzuela City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and reporting processes. As Accounting Supervisor, you will oversee daily accounting operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide strategic support to the finance department. This position is instrumental in driving our financial management excellence and supporting the company's growth objectives.

What you'll be doing

1. Supervise and manage the daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management

2. Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards

3. Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, intercompany transactions, and subsidiary accounts on a regular basis

4. Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports in accordance with company policies

5. Prepare and analyse financial data, variance reports, and management accounts for internal stakeholders

6. Lead, train, and mentor accounting staff, ensuring adherence to accounting policies and procedures

7. Coordinate with external auditors and support the audit process, including preparation of required documentation

8. Maintain and improve accounting control systems and internal controls to prevent fraud and errors

9. Support month-end and year-end closing activities and reconciliations

10. Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, statutory reporting requirements, and company accounting policies

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

2. Professional accounting qualification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent is preferred

3. 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role

4. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

5. Proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

6. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools

7. Excellent understanding of financial accounting, reporting, and consolidation procedures

8. Proven ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks whilst maintaining accuracy

9. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders

10. Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in training and developing accounting team members

11. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy

12. Knowledge of Philippine taxation laws and regulatory requirements is advantageous

13. Experience in distribution or manufacturing industries is preferred
