Project Manager (Night Shift)
Job Summary
The Project Manager leads a remote team (Project Coordinators, Site Managers, and other support roles) deployed to a global client in the clinical research and medical imaging sector. You own the team's day-to-day delivery: planning workload, mentoring team members, reviewing outputs, escalating risks, and reporting progress to client-side Senior Project Managers and Squad Leads. This position operates on a graveyard shift to align with US client business hours.
Team Leadership
Lead a squad of 3 to 8 remote staff assigned to the client engagement
Run regular 1:1s, team huddles, and quarterly performance reviews for direct reports
Onboard new team members, set ramp-up plans, and certify them on client procedures
Resolve people issues, attendance escalations, and inter-team coordination problems
Mentor Project Coordinators and Site Managers on project management discipline and clinical documentation standards
Partner with our HR team on hiring, performance management, and retention for the squad
Project & Delivery Responsibilities
Manage assigned client projects covering scope, timelines, risk, cost, resources, procurement, and stakeholder communication
Monitor team workload and reassign tasks to keep delivery on schedule
Prepare and submit project status reports, meeting minutes, and escalation logs to the client's Senior Project Manager or Squad Lead
Maintain study binders, training records, project files, and other controlled documents in line with client procedures
Oversee site management activities including site initiation tracking and issue escalation
Drive process improvement and project management discipline within the squad
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Engineering, Statistics, Project Management, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years professional experience, with at least 1 year leading a team (supervisor, team lead, or squad lead role)
Working knowledge of project management principles, including scope, schedule, risk, cost, stakeholder, and documentation control
Proven ability to coach, mentor, and run performance conversations with direct reports
Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
Strong written and verbal English communication, with the ability to coordinate clearly with international stakeholders
Organized, accountable, and able to lead a team on a night shift aligned to US business hours
Nice to have: Prior experience in clinical research, CRO, medical imaging, pharmaceutical, or healthcare project environments
Nice to have: Familiarity with GCP, ICH guidelines, or regulated documentation
Nice to have: Experience with project tracking tools (Smartsheet, Jira, or similar)
Nice to have: Prior experience leading remote or distributed teams across time zones
