Financial Planning and Analysis Assistant Manager
KEY RESULT AREAS:
FINANCIAL PLANNING
Consolidates and reviews budget submitted by different business units for the preparation of the annual group budget and 5-year forecast for submission to the Immediate Superior.
Initiates discussion with the business units/ other departments to further understand the underlying assumptions of the submitted budget and forecast
Analyzes and explains key variances between budget and actuals at the group/consolidated level. Identifies items that need further examination
Prepares regular reports/deliverables to MPIC, e.g., Latest Estimate Report and Elephant Schedule.
Prepares cashflow forecast of MPTC and entities managed by the head office, e.g., MPTNC, MPTMSI, MSIHI and regional offices for submission to immediate superior monthly or as needed, to ensure that sufficient cash is available for the requirements of the companies.
Prepares reports and analysis of financials for business expansion activities i.e. Valuation, Fund Raising, IPO.
Implementation/ adoption of new system for Budget i.e. SAP/ Anaplan
CORPORATE FINANCE
Reports to the Corporate Finance & Treasury Head and/or CFO, providing support for Corporate Finance matters such as but not limited to financing/ fund raising activities, financial planning and analysis and valuation.
Asists the Corporate Finance & Treasury Head by acting as an alternative point person/ relationship contact of the representatives of various financial institutions
Coordinates with various Business unit for their Project Finance and other loan requirements
Asists the Corporate Finance & Treasury Head in negotiating/ closing of financing documents in collaboration with the Legal team
Reviews the Quarterly Certification including supporting computations and Quarterly Unaudited/Audited Financial Statement prepared and collated by Corpfin Associate for submission to the lenders to ensure compliance to all loan covenants at all times.
Flags potential non-compliance to loan covenants to ensure compliance to loan covenants and to ensure timely resolution of financial reporting issues
Assists Corporate Finance Head in determining most advantegous financing strategy to the Head Office
Prepares Excom/ Board reports based on the proposed financing option by the Corpfin team
Monitors compliance of subsidiaries to loan covenants and inquires about details of non-compliance to point person of concerned susbsidiaries for immediate attention and resolution
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accountancy, Economics, or a related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA an advantage
At least 4-6 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, treasury, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), or investment banking, preferably within a holding company, conglomerate, or infrastructure/utilities setting
Solid working knowledge of loan documentation, financing structures, and loan covenant compliance monitoring
Experience in financial modeling, valuation, and budget/forecast consolidation at a group or multi-entity level
Familiarity with capital markets transactions (loan syndication, bond issuance, project finance) is an advantage
Working knowledge of budgeting/planning systems such as SAP or Anaplan is a plus
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with proficiency in advanced Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with lenders, auditors, and senior management/Excom
High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in covenant compliance and board-level reporting
Ability to work cross-functionally with Legal, Business Unit finance teams, and external financial institutions
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines (e.g., quarterly certifications, board reports, cashflow forecasts)
