Planning Staff
Role Overview: As a Planning Staff member at Furukawa Electric Thermal Management Solutions and Products Laguna, Inc., you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient planning and management of materials and production schedules. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with suppliers and production teams to meet the company's operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage material availability by creating and issuing accurate forecasts to suppliers to ensure timely delivery of required materials.
Develop and maintain production schedules to align with customer orders, inventory targets, and production capacity.
Monitor and analyze production performance, identifying and addressing any issues or concerns that may impact production timelines or material availability.
Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure seamless coordination of material flow and production activities.
Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, production schedules, and material usage to support effective planning and decision-making.
Utilize Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to prepare reports, analyze data, and present findings to management.
Assist in the continuous improvement of planning processes and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Support the resolution of any production or material-related issues, working proactively to prevent future occurrences.
Participate in regular meetings with suppliers, production teams, and other stakeholders to review performance and address any planning-related challenges.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a related field.
2 to 3 years of experience working as a production and material planner.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant planning software.
Strong ability to manage material availability and create accurate forecasts for suppliers.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address production issues and concerns effectively.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Experience in a Japanese manufacturing or industrial setting, preferably within the automotive or electronics industries.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
