Education, Training & Professional Development11-50 employees

In 1992, Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF) was established with the goal of having a lasting impact on education in the Philippines. Since its founding, we have built quality learning facilities, empowered the brightest and most deserving youth through scholarships, and supported reputable academic institutions.

Our first major project was the GBF Technical Training Center established in 1999. It currently serves as home of the GBF Iskolar ni Juan Technical-Vocational Scholarship Program where students take on a one-year TESDA-registered course followed by on-the-job training and employment in Universal Robina Corporation.

Aside from Iskolar ni Juan, we offer scholarship programs supporting outstanding students in college and high school. More than half of our 500+ scholars are undergraduate students taking STEM courses. We have expanded further to offer College and Masters scholarships to Educators of STEM and have opened programs to help strengthen their professional development.

We at GBF recognize strength in collaboration with the Philippines’ best universities. Its endowment to the Ateneo de Manila University led to the establishment of the John Gokongwei School of Management in 2002, and to De La Salle University, the Gokongwei College of Engineering in 2011.

Recognizing the need for synergy in order to expand its reach and deepen its impact, we also support the advocacies of various JG Summit business units and strategic partners with education-focused initiatives.
