Job Summary

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food service team to ensure high-quality food preparation, excellent customer service, compliance with food safety standards, and efficient kitchen operations. The role includes supervising staff, managing schedules, monitoring inventory, and ensuring company policies and operational standards are consistently followed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of the kitchen and food service team.

  • Ensure food is prepared and served according to quality, hygiene, and safety standards.

  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation.

  • Schedule and supervise kitchen and service staff.

  • Train, coach, and evaluate employees to improve performance.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the Purchasing Department for timely replenishment.

  • Minimize food waste and control operating costs.

  • Resolve customer complaints and operational issues promptly.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth food service operations.

  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and workplace discipline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Food Service Management, or a related field (preferred).

  • At least 3–5 years of experience in food service, catering, restaurant, or hospitality operations, with 1–2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards.

  • Experience in inventory management, cost control, and scheduling.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and reporting.

  • Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, if required.
