Assistant Production Maintenance Manager
Overview
The Assistant Production Maintenance Manager supports the Production Manager in planning, executing, and controlling all aspects of the injection molding production process. This role is critical in ensuring production schedules and output targets are consistently met, quality standards are upheld, and operational costs are kept within budget. The role also carries significant people management responsibilities, driving the performance and development of maintenance and production personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Production
Closely coordinate with the Production Supervisor and Production Planner on daily production schedules (mold/color changes, etc.) to ensure timely preparation of tools, equipment, materials, and manpower.
Work with the Production Planner, QC, and QA departments to ensure product mass, raw material formulas, job-order targets, rejection rates, output targets, and product quality are all maintained within management-set standards.
Coordinate with the Mold Shop and Preventive Maintenance Department for machine, mold, and equipment requirements, including planned downtime activities, and continuously identify opportunities to improve production operations.
Assist in developing and implementing effective injection molding production practices and procedures, with a strong emphasis on safe work execution and a positive safety culture.
Planning & Reporting
Assist the Production Manager in monitoring the production calendar and tracking production progress.
Prepare accurate and timely reports on production activities, output, and costs.
Coordinate with cross-functional departments including Mixing, Packaging, Administration/HR, and Purchasing.
People Management
Lead, coach, and develop Production Maintenance Personnel, driving a high-performance and continuous improvement culture.
Relieve the Production Supervisor when required.
Provide general administrative support to the Production Manager and carry out other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in injection molding production.
Minimum 2 years in an engineering or assistant managerial capacity.
Technical Skills
Strong working knowledge of injection molding processes and equipment.
Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office.
Knowledge of AS9100 requirements is a strong advantage.
