Logistics and Transportation Supervisor
The Logistics and Transportation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day transportation and logistics operations that support the business units across the Group of Companies. The role ensures the efficient planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of transportation services while optimizing fleet utilization, controlling operating costs, maintaining regulatory compliance, and delivering high-quality logistics support to internal stakeholders.
The position supervises transportation personnel and coordinates with various departments to ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective movement of goods, equipment, and personnel.
Key Responsibilities
A. Transportation Operations Management
Supervise the daily transportation operations serving the various companies within the Group.
Develop and implement transportation schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods, equipment, and materials.
Assign drivers, vehicles, and routes based on operational requirements.
Monitor delivery performance and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
Respond promptly to operational issues, transportation delays, and service disruptions.
B. Fleet Coordination and Utilization
Monitor fleet availability and maximize vehicle utilization.
Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs with the Fleet Maintenance team.
Ensure vehicle inspections are conducted before and after trips.
Monitor vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance records.
Recommend vehicle replacement or acquisition based on operational needs.
C. Logistics Planning and Coordination
Coordinate logistics requirements with the different business units within the Group.
Consolidate transportation requests to optimize routing and resource utilization.
Plan efficient delivery routes and schedules.
Monitor shipment status and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
Coordinate third-party logistics providers when necessary.
D. Team Leadership
Supervise drivers, dispatch personnel, and logistics coordinator.
Prepare work schedules and manpower deployment.
Conduct performance coaching and regular evaluations.
Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation procedures, and safety regulations.
Promote teamwork, accountability, and customer service excellence.
E. Compliance, Safety, and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with transportation laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
Monitor driver's licenses, vehicle registrations, insurance, permits, and other regulatory requirements.
Investigate transportation incidents, accidents, and customer complaints.
Implement corrective and preventive actions.
Promote a strong safety culture across transportation operations.
F. Cost Control and Reporting
Monitor transportation costs including fuel, tolls, repairs, and outsourced logistics services.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce logistics costs.
Prepare operational reports covering:
Fleet utilization
Delivery performance
Fuel consumption
Vehicle downtime
Transportation expenses
KPI performance
Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting for transportation operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Transportation Management, or a related field.
Experience
At least 5 years of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, fleet operations, or supply chain management.
At least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
Experience managing transportation operations that support multiple business units or locations is highly preferred.
Willing to travel to various company sites and operational locations as needed.
Willing to work beyond regular business hours, including weekends or holidays, when operational requirements demand.
With business acumen with the ability to understand operational and commercial priorities, analyze business impacts, and make sound decisions that support organizational objectives.
Capable of working in both office and field environments.
Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and operational risk management.
Demonstrates high integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous process improvement.
