Sr. Recruiter

Position Summary

We are seeking a Sr. Recruiter to lead the end-to-end talent acquisition strategy for technical, engineering, and professional services roles supporting our Australian clients. This role goes beyond standard day-to-day sourcing; as a senior member of the team, you will be heavily involved in structuring, auditing, and improving our internal recruitment workflows, templates, and tracking mechanisms.

The ideal candidate possesses deep experience navigating complex technical requirements (such as Engineers, Estimators, and Drafters) and excels at building reliable manual pipeline trackers, standardizing recruitment processes, and partnering closely with Australian stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Technical Execution
  • Full-Cycle Ownership: Drive the full recruitment lifecycle for highly specialized, senior, and niche technical positions, managing the process from initial client intake to successful onboarding.

  • Complex Technical Screening: Conduct advanced technical and behavioral assessments, vetting candidates for specific software proficiencies (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Cabinet Vision, Space Gass) and deep alignment with Australian industry standards.

  • Portfolio Management: Balance a diverse portfolio of open requisitions concurrently, establishing clear priorities to deliver high-quality placements under tight project timelines.

2. Sourcing & Pipeline Architecture
  • Advanced Sourcing Frameworks: Utilize expert-level Boolean strings, x-ray searching, and data scraping tools across LinkedIn Recruiter, specialized job boards, and professional communities to unearth passive talent.

  • Market Mapping: Conduct ongoing market mapping and salary benchmarking to advise clients on talent availability, localized talent constraints, and competitive salary expectations.

  • Pipeline Sustainability: Build and nurture organic talent communities for evergreen roles (e.g., Project Coordinators, Estimators, Structural Engineers) to significantly reduce future Time-to-Fill (TTF) metrics.

3. Recruitment Department Improvement & Process Ownership
  • Tracker Design & Audit: Create, optimize, and maintain manual recruitment trackers (e.g., via MS Excel or Google Sheets) to ensure accurate, real-time visibility into candidate pipelines without relying on an ATS.

  • Workflow Standardization: Design and implement standardized recruitment templates, interview scorecards, screening scripts, and email workflows to elevate the quality and consistency of the department's output.

  • Tool Optimization: Audit current sourcing channels, job boards, and alternative recruitment platforms to identify cost-effective tools and strategies that increase lead generation.

4. Stakeholder & Client Management
  • Consultative Partnerships: Partner directly with Australian business owners and executive panels to unpack vague job specifications, manage hiring expectations, and provide regular calibration updates.

  • Brand & Candidate Advocacy: Design and maintain a seamless, professional interview experience that protects both the client’s brand equity and ensures high offer-acceptance rates.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 6+ years of dedicated recruitment experience, with at least 3 years specializing in Technical, Engineering, Construction, or Infrastructure hiring within a BPO, RPO, or offshore agency.

  • Department Development Skills: Proven track record of improving recruitment processes, creating tracking systems from scratch, or standardizing team workflows in an environment without an ATS.

  • AU Market Literacy: Proven understanding of the Australian corporate ecosystem, geographic nuances, and standard technical terminology common to the AU civil/engineering landscape.

  • Data & Spreadsheet Mastery: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets for data entry, building pipeline trackers, and formatting regular recruitment reports.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills, with the professional gravitas required to interview senior-level professionals and local talent.
