Mechanical Designer (US Based Client) | Hybrid in Eastwood Libis
Work Set-Up: First 2-weeks onsite onboarding in Eastwood Libis before transitioning to fully remote/wfh.
Shift: Nightshift (Fixed weekends off)
Job Description:
A professional who works under senior members of the Engineering design team to prepare a concise set of project documents. Has the ability to analyze and understand design intent to produce efficient and effective engineering design solutions. Coordinate the design through all phases of the project using their knowledge of building engineering systems, building materials, building codes and construction technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Converts moderately complex schematics and/or design sketches and develops and establishes the engineering building details that meet quality parameters, project timelines and budgetary
Performs basic engineering activities such as calculations, code research, material and building systems research, laying out components and
calculation of program and building areasPrepares drawings following office standards
Attends team meetings to coordinate information with other professional disciplines
Works effectively in a team by supporting other team members
Improves timeliness of delivery without compromising quality of solutions and services
Utilizes industry best practices and established standards to ensure production adheres to corporate and professional expectations
Gains familiarity with current design trends, building systems and code changes to improve skills and implements them on project work
Completes administrative paperwork such as timesheets, time off requests, expenses, etc.
Job Requirements:
AAS degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 5 years related experience as a Mechanical Designer.
Hands-on experience with Revit, AutoCAD 2020 (or later), MS office suite (Word, Excel), BlueBeam Studio.
Experience with Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning design, Plumbing design, and Fire Protection to NFPA is required.
MEPFS design and drafting proficient
Residential/Commercial retail design and calculations experience is required.
Lux design is a plus
Building construction and design experience is a must
Familiarity with North American Codes and Standards is a plus.
U.S or Canadian experience is a plus.
Self-starter, highly motivated, team player with strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to interact with colleagues, senior engineers, project managers and construction personnel
