Field Engineer

BTSMC Managing Solutions, Inc. is urgently looking for LINE TRACERs (5 Months Project-based) to be assigned to Pagbilao, Quezon Province.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.

• Certified/trained in interpreting P&IDs, PFDs, and other engineering drawings for line and process tracing

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the Heavy industrial environment, Power or Oil & Gas industry as Engineering Drawing (P&ID) Line Tracer doing Redline Mark Up (Plant commissioning, line tracing, or industrial walkdowns).

• Fluent in English and advantage if also in Filipino.

• Computer literate, preferably with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google for documentation and reporting.

General Description:
The Technical Line Tracer will execute physical walkdowns and drawing asset reconciliation. This role bridges the gap between field reality and engineering documentation by auditing piping, electrical, and instrumentation systems. The specialist works closely with drafters to deliver certified as-built drawings and CMMS-ready asset data.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Preparation & Safety Planning

• Assemble legacy P&IDs, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), and wiring diagrams.

• Apply unified color-coded red-lining standards and criteria for drawing modifications.

• Conduct task-specific Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for all walkdown activities.

• Identify high-risk zones, height access needs, and required PPE.

• Secure plant entry permits alongside hot/cold work permits.

2. Field Walkdowns & Physical Verification

• P&ID Line Tracing: Trace piping runs to verify sizes, materials, process flows, valves, and instruments.

• Boundary Definition: Identify and verify battery limits and physical boundary isolation points.

• Electrical (SLD) Verification: Verify loads, breaker ratings, bus capacities, and transformer nameplates.

• Cable & Safety Auditing: Trace cable routing and terminations while confirming LOTO device locations.

• Wiring Diagrams Audit: Perform point-to-point wire tracing across cabinets, terminal strips, and loops.

• Markups: Generate site-verified red-line markups on printed legacy drawings.

3. Tag Reconciliation & Metadata Capture

• Cross-reference physical asset tags against P&IDs, SLDs, and wiring diagrams.

• Document missing, damaged, or mismatched labels in a Missing Tag Report.

• Extract asset manufacturer, model, serial number, and capacity data from the field.

• Format captured metadata into a standardized asset data collection matrix.

4. Drafting Support & Validation Loops

• Issue for Review (IFR): Guide drafters in synchronizing new tags with the master registry and performing QC checks.

• Issue for Approval (IFA): Assist in integrating stakeholder comments and validating cross-references across disciplines.

• As-Built Delivery: Ensure final field changes are integrated and block attributes are embedded.

• CMMS Integration: Assist in extracting validated asset data into flat files (CSV/Excel) for upload.

• Work Schedule: Monday - Saturday, 8hrs./day
