About the Role 

This role is part of our External Finance team and is suited to an experienced accounting professional who can independently manage a portfolio of Australian businesses. You will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and meaningful financial information while consistently demonstrating Air Accounting’s values and high-performance behaviours. 

Key responsibilities include:  

• Manage end-to-end bookkeeping and payroll for a portfolio of Australian businesses 

• Prepare month-end accounts and CFO-level reports, providing clear and meaningful financial information 

• Complete taxation obligations (BAS, IAS) in line with Australian taxation requirements 

• Act as a trusted point of contact for clients, proactively resolving queries, managing expectations, and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders 

What we are looking for 

• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or equivalent (Accounting major) 

• Minimum of 4 to 5 years of Australian bookkeeping and payroll experience 

• Excellent understanding and interpretation of Fair Work Modern Awards and Australian payroll legislation 

• Good understanding of Australian taxation concepts and Australian Accounting Standards 

• Advanced knowledge of Xero and Dext 

• Excellent understanding of, and abilitly to use, at least one app in each of the following categories: 

• Payroll & rostering: Deputy, Tanda, Employment Hero 

• POS systems: Lightspeed, Shopify, Square  

• Familiarity with at least one app in the following categories will be highly regarded: 

• Payment platforms: Weel, Wise, AirWallex, Paytron  

• Inventory management systems: Cin7, Unleashed 

• Automation apps: Amaka, A2X 

• Clear, confident communicator with strong client management and collaboration skills 

• Highly organised, detail-driven, and proactive, with the ability to work autonomously and solve problems
