(Entry-Level) Electrical Design Engineer - Paranaque
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Receives project and determines project requirements
2. Coordinates with customers / concerned offices regarding project requirements
3. Conducts preliminary studies, surveys and assessment to facilitate overhead /network facilities design
4. Prepares design for the following:
- projects involving secondary line extension, pole and G.U.Y. relocation, installation / replacement of single phase transformer
- simple projects (e.g. ordinary residential service connection, streetlight installation)
- consolidate survey pictures related to scope of work
- conduct technical analysis and survey notes
5. Prepares preliminary scheme for G.U.Y. relocation
6. Facilitates approval and implementation of the design
7. Encodes data, constructive unit and estimates in ENTERPRISE ASSET MANAGEMENT (EAM)
8. Gather data to facilitate determination of target dates for electric capital service (ECP) and service applications involving distribution facilities, transformer and network.
9. Analyze data and determine probable target dates for electric capital project (ECP) and service applications involving distribution facilities, transformer and network.
10. Facilitate determination of realistic target dates for projects
11. Prepare project schedule based on analysis of data
12. Prepares design for projects involving primary line extension, installation and replacement of three phase transformers, revamp of facilities, low voltage correction, and all major relocations
13. Facilitates approval and implementation of the design
14. Conducts Compliance audit to MERALCO specifications and standards.
15. Update facilities attributes in EAM including the Design drawing
Conducts preliminary studies, surveys and analyses to facilitate designing of distribution facilities
Prepares design for projects involving ECP, major road widening, primary metering, installation of special line equipment, projects requiring special construction or non-standard construction, and voltage correction
Prepares overhead distribution facility master plan
Facilitates initial approval and implementation of the design handled
Introduce non-standard alternative design scheme or constructive units
Monitors customer’s Compliance to MERALCO Specifications and standards for vault construction (e.g.) wall thickness, vault dimension, hoisting facilities, pull bars, drain ventilation and duct runs, cable primary run)
Provides of technical support, advice and consultancy services in the following areas:
- Transformer vault, overhead, underground, and network facilities design
- Distribution Project Management concerns
- MERALCO customers and / or electrical industry practitioners on distribution facilities-related concerns
Evaluates and prioritizes project schedules
Facilitates approval and implementation project schedule
Evaluates project schemes and proposes project implementation changes when necessary revisions
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
1. Must have an in-depth knowledge and proficiency in the following areas:
a. Design of transformer, overhead, and network facilities
b. Distribution Project Management
2. Preferably possessing skills in drafting / computer drafting technology (CAD)
3. Willing to train and hardworking
4. Can be assigned to all MERALCO franchise area including rotation if necessary
