Paraplanner
Position Summary
The Paraplanner provides technical, administrative, and research support to financial advisers in delivering high-quality financial planning services to clients. This role is responsible for preparing financial plans, conducting research, analyzing client information, preparing strategy recommendations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning Support
Gather, review, and organize client financial information.
Analyze client financial situations, goals, and objectives.
Assist in developing financial planning strategies and recommendations.
Prepare Statements of Advice (SOAs), Records of Advice (ROAs), financial plans, and supporting documentation.
Model financial scenarios using planning software.
Assist advisers with retirement, investment, insurance, estate planning, and cash-flow strategies.
Research and Analysis
Conduct research on financial products, investments, insurance solutions, and market trends.
Compare products and prepare recommendation reports.
Perform financial calculations and projections.
Review portfolio performance and prepare analysis reports.
Client Administration
Prepare client review documentation and meeting packs.
Maintain accurate client records and files.
Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant before submission.
Coordinate implementation of approved financial strategies.
Follow up on outstanding client requirements and applications.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure advice documentation complies with applicable regulations and company policies.
Maintain audit-ready client files.
Assist with compliance reviews and quality assurance checks.
Stay informed of regulatory and legislative changes affecting financial advice.
Adviser Support
Assist advisers in preparing for client meetings.
Draft correspondence and client communications.
Manage workflow deadlines and priorities.
Support ongoing client review processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Financial Planning, or a related field.
Relevant financial planning qualifications or certifications preferred.
Understanding of financial planning principles and investment concepts.
Skills and Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to interpret financial data and prepare professional reports.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements.
