Crewing Officer
General Responsibility:
Ensures that the Crew Management System is fully updated and all departing Seafarers are properly documented and certified in accordance to the latest STCW as well as Principal’s requirements prior dispatch.
Person Profile:
Must have at least 1-year relevant experience from manning or shipping company within the crew management team for seafarers.
Or at-least have a solid experience in allied maritime industries and in-charge of documentation for.
Graduate of any 4-year relevant course, or Tourism, Maritime and other relevant allied courses in an advantage.
Preferably available to join and start immediately.
Must know how to manage an assistant efficiently and must be able coach said assistant to achieve team goals.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Monitors incoming and outgoing emails concerning crew documentation.
2. Responds to queries by e-mail or phone from Crew Management relating to Crew’s document status.
3. Checks the completeness and validity of docs submitted by crew.
4. Verifies the authenticity of crew docs by logging into the official website of MARINA/ STCW.
5. Coordinate with the Crew Management as to the Crew’s medical status.
6. Monitors/ Checks crew contracts prepared by Crew Management.
7. Monitors the submission of crew contracts for processing at Licensing and Processing Department.
8. Monitors the submission of flag state application to the Flag State Officer.
9. Prepares crew contracts for promotion and vessel transfer for POEA processing.
10. Monitors the prompt release of the visa and flag state applications.
11. Ensures the timely uploading of crew docs in the Oceanis.
12. Ensures that uploaded docs are properly tagged in Oceanis, complete and valid for the entire duration of crew’s contract.
13. Ensures that requests for visa application, flag and contracts processing are done via Oceanis by ticking the LAPD tasks.
14. Checks crew’s blue folder and 201 file and ensures its completeness prior endorsement to the Crew Management for dispatch.
15. Submits on a daily basis Embarkation Preparation Status to Crossworld Athens.
16. Assumes responsibility and accountability on the performance of the Crew Asst.
17. Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
