Summary:
The Loans Division Head is accountable for the performance and revenue generation of key areas of business or portfolio of products/services of the company. He/She also provides leadership and direction through the various loans department managers across multiple activities of the financing company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages loan products from conceptualization, feasibility, development, roll-out, post-launch, periodic evaluation and product redesign.
- Grows revenues and builds up volumes through developing and implementing programs and initiatives for the loan product offerings.
- Establishes policies and procedures for credit application processes, and maintains credit for clients of the company.
- Oversees the entire loans department operation in accordance with the established directions, strategic plan and evaluates its success based on business plan targets and projections.
- Reviews and evaluates existing policies to re-align these and provide structure to address identified risks.
- Develops and executes marketing plans and strategies to achieve the overall targets, goals and income targets of the company.
- Maintains awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards, etc.
- Manage the division who are liaising with customers, lenders and the relevant teams in the customer function to ensure that loan applications are submitted, approved and settled timely
- Identify and implement process improvements to effectively execute business strategies
- Optimize credit review and collateral evaluation processes based on credit policies and risk management strategies to maintain a healthy lending portfolio.
- Oversee compliance with local regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Monitor, coach and mentor to drive performance and achieve goals.
Qualifications:
- Graduates of Business/Commerce/Finance degree or other relevant degrees
- More than 10 years of managerial experience in the financial and banking industry, including lending, secured loans, and credit-related services.
- Must have extension lending/broker/finance support experience, preferably in credit assessment with exposure to entire application processes from submission to settlement
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Ability to effectively operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment
- Exemplary stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to think and act swiftly and proactively
