RESEARCH, PUBLICATIONS AND INFORMATION OFFICER

The RPID Officer is responsible for facilitating research development projects, publications, and information dissemination materials that include, but are not limited to, research studies, training materials development, CPSC publications, and news reports for CPSC activities, among others.

Specific Duties

Research Projects Development and Implementation

  • Assist in the preparation of research and development studies and project proposals on emerging trends in the Asia Pacific Region and their impact on TVET for consolidation and dissemination to member countries
  • Plan and conduct research projects for and about the TVET system in Asia and the Pacific Region, in consultation with the Division Chairperson and Academic Board;
  • Perform research-related functions such as data encoding, processing, determining trends, graphing, matrix building, development of research instruments, and interpreting findings and results
  • Assist in the development/formulation of the need-based survey instrument in support of the requirements of professional staff/organization
  • Conduct desk research, administer surveys, and provide documentation and analysis of the data and information gathered for research projects

Publication Development and Information Dissemination

  • Compose and publish news reports and other informative articles on various CPSC activities;
  • Review and manage contents of the CPSC website and Social Media pages with necessary technical assistance from the ICT Division;
  • Facilitate the publication of various CPSC information documents such as CPSC Journal (STEPS), Quarterly Publications, Conference/Program Proceedings, Brochures, Flyers, etc.;
  • Assist the Academic Board in reviewing articles for inclusion in the publication of STEPS
  • Facilitate the publication of CPSC periodic reports such as Midyear, Annual, and Biennial Reports, in coordination with the Executive Secretary;
  • Prepare periodic reports of RPID such as Mid Year and Annual Reports, KPI, and divisional accomplishment reports in consultation with RPID Chairperson;
  • Assist in preparing the yearly operational plan of RPID, in consultation with the RPID officer and/or chairperson.

Others

  • Assist in the preparation and conduct of training-related activities and other programs and projects as may be assigned
  • Assist in the preparation of the program book, theme papers, and project/project reports as needed
  • Perform other tasks and related duties as may be assigned from time to time
  • Assist RPID Chairperson in maintaining and updating library resources and information system; 
  • Undertake APACC Documentation Officer assignment from time to time;
  • Undertake various activities that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications and Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Research, Social Science, Development Communication, International Development Studies, Mass Communication, Journalism or in any related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience related to research development in education; or Master’s Degree in TVET and Skills Development or any related fields. 

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of conducting research studies on education, skills development, and other related topics
  • Experience working in other International Organizations is an advantage

Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of different research designs and methods
  • Proficient in data processing, analysis, and interpretation
  • Knowledge in using statistical tools (SPSS, etc)
  • Knowledge in research proposal packaging
  • Proficient in publications development, printing, and publishing
  • Proficient in business writing and development communications
  • Excellent command of English language, both written and speaking
  • Proficient in computer applications and systems
