Overview:
We are seeking a creative and experienced Digital Instructional Designer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing engaging and effective digital learning experiences that meet the needs of our diverse audience. This position offers the opportunity to leverage instructional design principles, cutting-edge technology, and multimedia tools to develop innovative learning solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Head of Learning Solutions, subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to analyse learning needs and objectives.
- Design and develop interactive and multimedia-rich digital learning materials, including eLearning modules, videos, simulations, and interactive assessments.
- Utilise instructional design methodologies, such as ADDIE or SAM, to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
- Apply adult learning principles and best practices in instructional design to ensure content relevance, learner engagement, and knowledge retention.
- Create storyboards, scripts, and prototypes to outline the structure and flow of digital learning content.
- Select and integrate appropriate learning technologies and tools, such as learning management systems (LMS), authoring tools, and multimedia software.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews and user testing to ensure accuracy, functionality, and usability of digital learning materials.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in instructional design, digital learning, and educational technology.
- Provide guidance and support to internal teams and external vendors on instructional design best practices and digital learning development processes.
- Collaborate with graphic designers, multimedia specialists, and other team members to create visually appealing and interactive learning experiences.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field, not essential.
- Proven experience in digital instructional design, preferably in a corporate or educational setting.
- Proficiency in instructional design methodologies, learning theories, and adult learning principles.
- Strong knowledge of eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software.
- Experience with multimedia development tools, video editing software, and graphic design tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and learning technology standards (e.g., SCORM, xAPI).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative problem-solving skills and ability to think critically about instructional design challenges.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of instructional design and educational technology.
