Meeting and Events Manager
A Manager for Meetings and Events Department is responsible for owning and controlling all operational aspects of the business in accordance with the strategic objectives of the Company; not limited to managing corporate events and client relations; developing, implementing, and reviewing departmental plans and programs; directing business unit and staff development and enhancement.
- Develop and submit for approval annual plans and programs of the business unit to align with key performance areas and achieve business and profit objectives. Direct their implementation and monitor progress.
- Work with customers to develop, coordinate, and implement their meetings, incentives, conventions, and events.
- Assist in development and presentation of sales pitches and proposals, as required.
- Conduct internal pre-program briefings and post-program debriefings.
- Source destination, air, hotel, and venue options that meet the goals and objectives of the client for their event.
- Negotiate hotel, air, and venue contracts.
- Utilize and leverage when applicable, BCD Meetings and Events preferred suppliers and vendors, hotel agreements to negotiate contracts.
- Track and report hotel room nights and spend.
- Work to increase program profitability over the original priced program received at pre-sale turnover.
- Facilitate the creative direction, timeline, and overall development of the event program, proofread and present for approval.
- Facilitate the creative direction and fulfillment of program-related participant and host communication materials for events.
- Facilitate and oversee data management process, integrity, accuracy and reporting. Ensure reconciliation of data is complete and accurate.
Requirement :
- Degree in business, hospitality, or any professional disciplines
- Minimum three years of managerial experience
- Minimum of five years in events management gained from any industry
- Working knowledge of travel operations, hospitality management, and event planning.
- Excellent attention to details
- Keen understanding of customer needs and service
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to influence others to facilitate change.
- Creative thinker who can work independently and with a close-knit team.
- Confident and with strong organizational skills to give the team direction.
