Programmer – Java Developer – Technical Analyst

Responsibilities:

Roles and Responsibilities/Specification

To provide technical and business knowledge input to the investigation, analysis, design, development, implementation and support of solutions and IT products. Provide detailed technical input on software applications while working to the project deliverables and standards. Participate in the preparation, review and support of software solutions to support the delivery of a successful implementation.

  • Participate in the implementation, configuration and technical design of COTS products (e.g. TRIPS™) for the project.
  • Co-ordinate with team members to ensure project targets are met when required.
  • Ensure development work conforms to agreed quality standards through the use of code reviews and demonstrations.
  • Suggest technical solutions to improve quality, efficiency and productivity.
  • Design and construct software programs, prepare unit test plans and data, perform unit testing.

Requirements:

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience in web application development and analysis using Object Oriented (OO) methods and techniques on the Oracle Application Development framework or similar.
  • Java Developer with experience in J2EE, JSF (Tiles or similar acceptable, ADF Faces preferred), Struts, JDBC, EJB (2.1 minimum, 3.0 preferred), Java Web Services.
  • Familiarity developing for or working with an Oracle Application Server environment (10g preferred). Experience in Service Oriented Architectures and orchestrating Web Services with BPEL is desired.
  • Experience working with Relational Database systems (Oracle desirable), and good SQL knowledge and experience of the full project life cycle from requirement gathering, development, QA, release, etc.
  • The applicant must be fully familiar with IT Platforms including Windows and UNIX.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills are required.
  • Essential to have a creative mind and must be very driven with excellent self-motivation and must be able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
