JobStreet.com and Philippine Star collaborate on high impact career event
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JobStreet.com and the Philippine Star, once again collaborates on the final leg of the Philippine Star JobStreet Classifinder Job Fair. To be held at the Market! Market! Trade Hall on September 15 and 16, the job fair will provide a unique job fair experience for the applicants and employers by combining strengths of event participation, newspaper advertising and online recruitment technology.

"We forged our partnership with the Philippine Star to leverage our strengths as leaders in our respective fields: JobStreet.com as the leading online job website, and the Philippine Star, as a leading daily broadsheet." says Grace Colet, country manager of JobStreet.com's Philippine operations. "We both support the trend towards convergence of various recruitment channels for greater efficiency and effectiveness for both jobseekers and employers. With this event, we combine the face-to-face interaction of a physical job fair with the nationwide reach and impact of print media advertising and the ease and convenience of online application."

JobStreet.com will set up a resume deposit kiosk during the job fair, allowing jobseekers to create and submit their electronic resumes to participating companies instantly. It will also support the event by uploading a special web page in its popular website – www.jobstreet.com - with information regarding the job fair and links allowing off-site jobseekers to submit their resumes to participating employers. Through its award-winning SiVA technology, JobStreet.com will provide the online resume management system to participating employers. This will enable their recruitment staff to easily access resumes of applicants, screen and filter for qualified candidates and update job hopefuls on the status of their applications.

The Philippine Star, on the other hand, will publish the positions being processed by the participating employers in a special supplement in the September 10 issue of JobStreet Classifinder, the weekly jobs section of the Philippine Star.

"Our goal is to use both print and online media to redirect applicants to the job fair event, providing them means to apply to their preferred employers fast, easy and cost-effectively." adds Angelica Cortez, JobStreet.com's assistant marketing manager. "During the event, applicants who applied in advance through the online and print channels can devote their time to learning more about the employers and the jobs they are eyeing."

JobStreet.com has been working together with the Philippine Star since they launched JobStreet Classifinder in July 2005. JobStreet Classifinder contains various job opportunities, career articles and other information relevant to jobseekers.
