JobStreet organizes Cebu’s online job fair

To kick off its entry in Cebu, JobStreet.com Philippines, Inc. is organizing Career Expo 2005, a job fair combined with a career development exposition featuring talks on job hunting and career enhancement. It will be held at the Ayala Center Cebu Activity Center on March 18 to 20, 2005. The event aims to make various job opportunities from top companies accessible to Cebu’s growing labor force.

The event is in line with the company’s expansion to the Visayas area. Together with the opening of JobStreet’s Cebu satellite office, Career Expo 2005 is expected to help bridge the gap between qualified talents and employers.

“We see the huge potential in Cebu’s labor force to address the needs of today’s businesses.” says Grace Colet, general manager of JobStreet’s Philippine operations. “This event will enable us to provide better job search and career development services to Cebuanos as well as support the manpower requirements of local companies.”

The event combines the face-to-face interaction of regular job fairs and the convenience of JobStreet’s online recruitment technology. “We applied our online processes to physical job fairs.” Says Angelica Cortez, JobStreet’s marketing supervisor. “Jobseekers will have the option to apply to participating companies online or during the event proper. Applying online will allow them to submit their resumes to their preferred companies beforehand, so they can concentrate on getting to know their potential employers during the event.”

JobStreet is in the business of human resource listing and matching, web-based applications and database management. It currently has over 820,000 registered users and services over 5,000 corporate clients in the country.
